Average food & pricing. Mini Set menu available whole day.
Had to pay $0.25 to have my sandwich toasted. Washrooms are extremely dirty. Covid19 distancing between table is good but the entrance/exit is still shared and not possible to social distance. Food is mediocre. Go to Happy Day next building over instead.
MoreWent in for dinner, the servers looked at us standing at the door but didnβt bother to come over. Waited for about 15 - 20 minutes and it wasnβt even busy. Teach your staff to be conscious of other cultures . Never going back!
MoreI like this place because their breakfasts are very similar to the breakfasts served in Hong Kong. Its relatively cheap for what you get. I usually get macaroni with shredded chicken with French toast, an egg omelet with vegetables and chicken and hot ovaltine for $8.50. Absolutely love their macaroni and French toasts. Their breakfast ends at 11am. Their lunch is okay but nothing special. Their dinner is pretty good. I love their special pork chop with fries, spaghetti and gravy. Their customer service is not that good. Kind of rushed and they don't seem to like it when you ask them for anything else after ordering.
Morealways like this place, but last night was disappointing because we ordered 6 dishes and a soup to take out and we ended up missing one dish and getting the soup wrong so that the vegetarian had no food for dinner except rice.
MoreGreat food choice and plenty of parking.
Honolulu Cafe is alright, nothing special in my opinion. I didn't try too much because I wasn't a fan of the soup. I probably didn't choose right though. Staff is friendly though! and price is good, just don't be expecting mind-blowing food. It has been around for a long time, so there has to be something there people keep going back for.
MoreVery good price and much faster and friendlier service than another competitor down the block.
MoreGreat service. Food was piping hot and delicious.
Efficient service. Don't forget to try to baked seafood with rice. There are mussels fish imitation crab shrimps etc.
MoreFood is good. Always a classic hk style cafe. But man they gotta do something about them flies in the place..
MoreThe first time I passed by I didn't take a second look at the place, but one night being super hungry and late in the evening I gave it a second look. It was bustling inside so I figured it must be worthwhile. Was pleasantly surprised with a vast menu, good prices, omg the portions were hefty, and indeed tasty. For sure will be hitting them up again.
MoreLove their breakfast set! HK style! Great taste and affordable with free parking. My to go place for breakfast with my family and kids.
MoreWent in to grab a bite to eat, the servers kept staring at us but didnβt bother coming and seating us. Walked out and never to return. Worst service, teach your servers to be professional and respectful to customers.
MoreFood here is ok , my relatives love coming here . I'm giving it a lower score because at least twice the meat has smelled expired. They're pretty good about giving you a new dish when this happens. I normally would not return here but as my relatives like it , I keep coming .
MoreGood food, central location, good service.
Popular place at breakfast, relatively quick service. Sit down, order, eat and out of there under 20 minutes
MoreService is always very fast and reliable, staff is plentiful and friendly, food order is never wrong. Excellent value! Note: Cash-only place.
MoreVery good Hong Kong style breakfast
Sometimes their food is expired or what. It will make me have stomachache or diarrhea lol..... Especially their breakfast or hair inside the soup noodle or what..... Like ewwwww. I don't know why my family like it.......
MoreI think people really take this place for granted. With the new HK cafe open nearby this place has seen a decline in business but they still do things like they used to. Overall it's good. Prices still competitive. The rice noodles and runny egg rice are what you expect. The stone bowl sweet and sour pork was good as well.
MoreHongkong style tea cafe, used to be quite crowded. Not so anymore with some new competitors in the area. They offer a variety of food choices but the menu is a hit or miss. Also the portions seem to be smaller than their counterparts. The place is rather old and not very clean. The kitchen and washroom are too close and too dirty, and some table tops are crooked. Would not come to this place if I have kther choices.
Moretypical Hong Kong cafe average food
Typical Hong Kong cafe style restaurant. I come here once in awhile if Iβm really hungry because the foods here does βhit the spotβ. Parking is usually pretty easy. Curbside parking and ample parking spots in the plaza. Service here is not exactly service with a smile, but the food comes at a reasonable time. The food quality here overall is just above mediocre. If you order meat dishes thereβs a chance youβll get fatty meats though. The pan fried dishes can be overly greasy which can be a turn off for some. The menu selections are pretty big with dozens if not hundreds of dishes to choose from. Can be daunting if it's your first time. prices are fair. If you don't know what to get, the $9.99 mini dishes specials that starts at 6pm is a pretty good bet. 3.5/5
MoreOrdered the slice beef with XO sauce and chicken steak with black pepper sauce. ALL of the dishes were huge portions and relatively cheap for how much you get. Quick service and clean restauraunt.
MoreTasty and quick and cheap, where else you can get it?
Great food and service for affordable price.
Friendly staff....Food great!
Great coffee! Hongkong style. Fast breakfast service.
Been here twice. Once when it was busy and second when it wasnβt. It has better service the first time we came than the second time. Very few people but took so long on taking our orders. Food was decent taste. Nothing really amazing or special for me. Just bad service really.
MoreReasonable prices, decent food, decent service. Value worth a 4 star. Food worth a 3 star.Chinese open diner / "cafeteria" style setting makes it a great place to relax and chat with friends. Personally, the place gives me a real sense of home, especially hearing all the Cantonese. Pushes it to a 4 star for me.
MoreInexpensive HK style food at good prices. True, it may not have the ambiance of some other places but the price makes up for it.
MorePortions of food are generous for the price. If you are non-Asian you are at a disadvantage if you donβt speak the language. Servers have problems with English and menu is mainly in Mandarin and does not have pictures. We managed to order okay. The side plates were still wet and a little dirty. They only accept cash. All in all food is acceptable for the price. Service is Vancouver-like. Meaning, indifferent. Somewhat acceptable but no plans to come back.
MoreDuring the Christmas season there is usually a special. This year was a half lobster and choice of two meat dishes. This comes with a cream soup or a borscht and garlic bread. Choice of coffee or read and a dessert, a small cheesecake. Donβt expect a culinary experience. You come in you order and eat. Food is decent enough that we come here for breakfast or a lunch or dinner special. We know what we are getting and are satisfied.
MoreDinner menu items are ginormous! Went as a party of 4 and we ordered 4 dishes ... server (owner?) told us, "It's too much. Just order 3. It'll be enough." Sure enough, he was right. Appreciated the honest suggestion.
MoreFood to stuff a face. Typical of the standards along this stretch of greasy spoon cafes on Kingsway where volume, not taste, is the criteria.
MoreMy neighbourhood food stop.. breakfast French toast is included in substitutions. Reasonable price for food, don't come here for the decor.
MoreVery organized. foods is delicious and reasonable for the money you paid.
Had breakfast there. It was alright. Typical Hong Kong style breakfast. The food was oily and it tasted like fast food. I wouldn't even consider this place as a restaurant.
MoreππThe prices are reasonable but there is something weird about their food. I found a tooth in my chicken and shrimp fried rice and I don't think chicken and shrimp have teeth this big
MoreAwsome place. Food is excellent and the vibe is very family and homely. It's one of those iod school places that will be gone one day so enjoy it.
MoreSlow service, service staff talks in Chinese to anyone in the group & ignores non Chinese speakers.
MoreHuge portion of food at a low cost. It's best to come as a group to share dishes. Food quality and service is average though.
MoreGood breakfast, east to find seats. Good and convenient for quick meals for locals.
MoreFond memories of this place back when I lived just around the corner (2004-2006). Great place for some late night grub while studying. Service was always fantastic, and the seafood dishes were some of my favorite.
MoreOne of my girlfriends family's favourite spots for HK style dinner. We ordered the lobster/steak Christmas specials and they were great. The steak was tender, and the lobster very meaty. Staff is also extremely friendly and accommodating. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area and looking for very affordable dining.
MoreGood, reliable Chinese cafe food options at a reasonable price. Has good afternoon tea options and great, affordable dinner options.
MoreHK style menu. Good food and quick service. Been going here for 15+ years
HK style cafe!! Good Cantonese food with a very fair price!!! Cash only, tho! Highly recommend their weekly specials!!! Friendly staff!!!
MoreVery Chinese. I have been many times for the steak and eggs. Love the HK coffee.
